This is the second time in a year that I worked as a wedding photographer in Aix-en-Provence. The first time was for the union of two women, the second too. More and more I cover LGBT weddings, after covering and taking pictures of “22 The project“. I gained some visibility on Gay friendly wedding photography.

I was contacted a few months in advance by this great and gorgeous couple, we first talked on the phone and also by some emails that we exchanged. After talking about the process and what they are expecting from me, the way I proceed on wedding photography We agreed on all points and then there was only the need to wait for the D day. Finally for me, for her the preparations started to go up in the rhythm.

After the first look, direction to the town hall of Aix-en-Provence

After some photos made the day before and tracking in Aix-en-Provence, but also in Orgon where the other part of the wedding was to take place. On D-Day, I joined one of the brides at the hair salon “Makers” to make some pictures of the preparations. Then we headed to Albertas Square, a nice place invested by tourists during the day, by young people to drink blows at night. Luckily it was practically empty on the moment we got there. The perfect place to take pictures of a first look. The brides were to about to join there and discover the dress of her future wife. A moment that I did not miss to capture and that was very beautiful. After a lonng and pleasant quarter of an hour, we headed to the town hall of Aix-en-Provence, a city hall that is victim of its success. There many weddings happens every week, but it is very welcoming and warm to get married there.

The secular ceremony in Orgon

After the town hall, we joined the park’s inn in Orgon. A domain under a rocky cliff in the very heart of region of Provence. A ceremony rich in emotion awaited us. I was surprised by the beauty of the place and especially by the ceremony where friends and families took turns to witness and celebrate love and joy of this beautiful day. They passed the ring on their finger and animated the end of the ceremony with a singing duet. Their beautiful voices made the field vibrate, meancwhile applause were punctuating the songs. In conclusion, it was announcing a beautiful evening in perspective.

Collioure

As I wrote about it on a older post Collioure is on the côte Vermeille, in southern France. This city well known as the where the Fauvism first took place, and where many famous artist lived, Henri Matisse, Pablo Picasso, Salvador Dali and many others. Nowadays, it’s touristy and full of souvenir shops, expensive restaurants with it’s fancy people, but still welcoming however you are.

I’ve spent a week around Collioure, making some treks around the coast, exploring the city, or just chilling at the beach. Swimming in the small beach of the city was really pleasant, it’s really close to the city. The water was really salty, and warm. Give a try to that beach, but I advise you to walk for 10 more minute and to stop by the creek which is just under the ‘Relais des trois mas” then you can jump in the water while having Collioure in front of you.
