The Image Behind the Industry
Available in Paris and Internationally
Industrial Photographer Based in Paris
I am Mahdi Aridj, an industrial photographer in Paris working across France and internationally. I partner with engineering firms, energy companies, construction groups, and manufacturers to create powerful images that document industrial environments with precision and impact.
What sets me apart: I am a trained agronomic engineer specialised in Lean Management and industrial performance. Before I ever picked up a camera, I was on the production floor. I have observed, analysed, and optimised industrial processes. I understand how a production line flows, what a workstation really looks like, and what it means to operate under a tight schedule. When I arrive on your site, I am not a photographer discovering an unfamiliar world. I am someone who understands it, speaks the same language as your teams, and knows exactly where the right image is.
Every assignment begins with a clear brief and ends with a set of images that genuinely work: annual reports, investor presentations, press releases, marketing campaigns, internal documentation.
What Is Industrial Photography?
Industrial photography is a specialised discipline that documents the built, mechanical, and human reality of industrial environments. It requires technical preparation, an understanding of operational constraints, and the ability to work safely and efficiently in demanding conditions. Active production lines, offshore platforms, construction sites, energy infrastructure: each environment presents its own challenges, and each requires a different approach. This is precisely where my engineering background makes the difference.
The images produced are used across a wide range of professional contexts:
Annual reports and financial communications Corporate brochures and institutional publications Press releases and media kits Investor presentations and roadshow materials Marketing campaigns and digital content Internal communications and training documentation Architecture and heritage archives
A strong industrial photograph does more than document. It communicates scale, precision, and expertise. It shows your clients, investors, and partners what your organisation is capable of.
Areas of Expertise
Manufacturing Plants and Production Lines
I have photographed a wide range of manufacturing environments, from craft workshops to large-scale industrial production sites. Detailed close-ups of components and machinery, wide environmental shots that convey the scale of a facility, portraits of teams at work: my approach adapts to the specific demands of your site and your communication objectives.
Energy Infrastructure Photography
I work on solar energy installations and energy infrastructure. I understand how to capture both the technical complexity and the human dimension of these operations, producing images that work for internal and external audiences alike.
Construction Sites and Civil Engineering Projects
Construction photography requires the ability to document progress systematically and to capture the defining moments of a project’s lifecycle. I work with construction groups, project developers, and engineering firms to produce images that serve everything from site reporting to landmark project communications.
Logistics Centres and Warehouses
I document warehouses, distribution centres, and freight operations, producing images that convey operational efficiency and the human reality behind supply chains.
Industrial Architecture
Industrial buildings and infrastructure have their own formal and technical beauty. I photograph industrial architecture with the same rigour applied to commercial or heritage architecture.
My Approach as an Industrial Photographer
Every project follows the same structured process.
Before the shoot, I work with you to establish a clear brief: the environments to be covered, the key subjects, the intended use of images, and any operational or safety constraints on site. I carry out any required site visits and safety inductions in advance, so that shooting time is used efficiently.
On the day, I work methodically and discreetly alongside your teams, in full compliance with your HSE requirements: PPE, hygiene rules, and restricted access procedures. I know these constraints and integrate them naturally, without affecting the quality or flow of the shoot.
Post-production is handled with the same level of care as the shoot itself. You receive high-resolution, professionally retouched files in the formats you need, delivered within the agreed timeline.
Industrial Photography for Annual Reports and Corporate Communications
An annual report or corporate campaign does not just need beautiful images. It needs the right images: those that show what you actually do, where you do it, and with the teams that make it happen. It is this reality, documented with precision, that builds trust with your investors, partners, and clients.
I work with communications directors and agencies to build a coherent set of images, aligned with your communication objectives, delivered in print and digital formats, within your editorial deadline.

Industrial Photographer : Who I Work With

Frequently Asked Questions
What is industrial photography? Industrial photography is a professional discipline that documents industrial environments, including factories, energy sites, construction projects, and logistics facilities, for use in corporate communications, annual reports, marketing, and press. It requires technical expertise, a safety-conscious mindset, and the ability to adapt to operational constraints on site.
How do I prepare for an industrial photography shoot? Preparation starts with a detailed brief, conducted by phone or email. I then carry out any required site visits and site safety training. On the day of the shoot, you simply need to ensure appropriate access and, where necessary, the availability of key personnel.
How long does an industrial photography shoot take? This depends on the scope of the project. A focused shoot covering a single area of a facility typically takes a full day. Multi-site projects or comprehensive documentation of a large facility may require two days or more. I always recommend the minimum time needed to deliver the full brief.
Do you work within HSE and site safety requirements? Yes. I am experienced in working within the safety protocols of industrial environments: PPE requirements, permit-to-work systems, and restricted access procedures. I am available to complete any required site safety training prior to the shoot.
What do I receive after the shoot? You receive a set of high-resolution, professionally retouched images in the formats specified in the brief. Typically JPEG and TIFF for print, and web-optimised versions for digital. Delivery is via a private online gallery or file transfer.
Can you photograph across multiple sites? Yes. Multi-site projects are a regular part of my work. I coordinate all logistics, including travel, scheduling, and access, maintaining a consistent visual approach across all locations.
Do you work with communications agencies? Yes. I work regularly with agencies handling corporate communications briefs for industrial clients. I am comfortable working to agency-defined shot lists and delivering files to agency specifications.
Are you available for international assignments? Yes. I work in Europe and Africa. I speak French, English, and Arabic, which allows me to work directly with your local teams, without an intermediary, wherever the assignment takes place.
How quickly can you send a quote? I send a detailed quote within 48 hours of our first conversation.
