#Themfie
A collection of #Themfies that I took during weddings or events.
#Themfie
During the last years during my photography assignements. I’ve noticed that a lot of people or guests of the events that I’m photographing are taking pictures with their smartphones. Making selfies at certain moments or with the bride & the groom during a wedding to have an instant picture to share on social media. I’ve decided to shoot the screen of the phone or it back depending on where I’m standing. The blurred part is usually the subject (you can guess their shape) and the sharpen part is the screen or the phone itself. Since it’s not a selfie, I thought about the word « Themfie » I’ve chekcked on google then I decided to call this serie #Themfie.
The fisrt time I took this kind of pictures it was the eiffel tower during the Bastille day in 2013. I was standing in Champs de mars in Paris to see the firework but it was so croweded and even with my 190cm I couldn’t see or frame perfectly without having the heads, hands or the phones … I tried one picture framing and focusing on the the screen of that women and the result was so good, the blurry shape of the Eiffel tower with sparkles of the fire work ehind and on the screen the lady iron sharpen with all details displayed on the screen of the smartphone. I know it’s not a themfie but maybe we can call it an #Itfie. It gave me the idea to do it again when I had the chance to shoot a picture like that.
