Barbes shivers for the Fennecs
Barbes Shivers for the Fennecs and Barbès made Paris vibrate in this quarter-final evening. It was only after a long 120 minutes of play and after a tensed penalty shootout that the Algerian national team were able to pull out their qualification in the semifinals of the 2019 African Cup of Nations. When the last penalty of the Ivorian national team struck the post Barbès ignited.
The joy and the songs of the supporters made vibrate this the eighteenth district of Paris. Women, men and children have let their joy flare flags and pennants in hand, smoke red and green have colored the streets and horns have rythmed the songs and screams of happiness. This is just a qualification for the semi-finals, but the fans of the Fennecs needed this victory as to echo the Hirak.
The fennecs will face the Nigerian selection this Sunday in Cairo, the fans and a whole nation is behind them. In Algeria and all over the world, the tension will be at the rendezvous hardcore fans or just casual fans like me will be behind them to cheer and also live these moments of tension where we find ourselves screaming for a fault that we thought we saw or a missed opportunity … and hope to see his favorite team victorious in those precious times when Algeria lives decisive moments on sports but especially on the politically wise !
