Since I’ve noticed how cool it is to shoot a picture of people while they are shooting a selfie. I kept doing it and opened my eyes to capture more of it. I’ve started doing it during the weddings i’m assigned on. When people are shooting selfies with the bride & the groom. That’s logic, the pictures of the photographer are always available after a few days. So the only way to have an instant picture at the wedding and to be able to share it on the social media is to take it with a smartphone. «We want it and we want it now !» Evolution of photography from the film camera passing by the Polaroid and the disposable camera arrived in the era of the Selfie few years ago. So now why not treating the #Themfie topic through my lens.
My older brother offered me or to my sister a Sony Ericsson T610. If you had one and if you remember on the back side just next to the camera. The removable rubber to place a small mirror to take a self-portrait. By that time in 2003 the word “selfie” wasn’t existing (How to use the mirror of the Sony Ericsson T610 – Have a look on the manual page 53) This concept of taking yourself in picture was not generalized because by that time Instagram & Facebook weren’t existing, people weren’t able to share it. But some phone brands thought of it, as you can see it on this Sony Ericsson model.
Themfie project
In this series, I’ve posted pictures of colored themfies that I’ve called “Themfie Color”. Most of them shot while doing some street photography. I’ll keep posting some other in the few months.
