Pregnancy photography in Berlin

During my last in Germany I had my first contract as a photographer for pregnancy photography in Berlin. I was working on my project about the pregnancy and midwifery in Germany. The couple contacted me through Instagram after I had a maternity photo session in Bonn with Annika, Sven and their baby. Their were really famous and I didn’t know that, they just tagged me on the picture I took of them. Then I saw how viral it got, around 8000 likes and started to have more followers, I started receiving my first inquiries to get hired as a pregnancy photographer, people contacted me from Frankfurt and also from Berlin.

I went to Berlin two weeks later to meet Olga and Stan. They were really special for me, my first German customers. They welcomed me in their flat we had warm drinks on that cold snowy Sunday of January. We talked about photography, we shared some thoughts about our passion. How I got to be a photographer, my experiences and how I’m dealing with travelling all around Germany. I told them that I found good spots around Oberbaumbrücke. So this is were we started the photo session.

We headed to Warschauer strasse, we stopped in the yard of a building with a big rock in the middle covered by snow and some stalactites. They were really comfortable with being the models of my photo session. We took with us some accessories and also the print of the ultrasound of the baby to make some different kind of pictures.

Shooting pregnancy photography is great, the people you take pictures of are really happy by that moment. They live the last moments of being a non parent couple. They get ready to welcome the baby and they had 40 weeks to enjoy that and to get ready of being parents. This is kind of most precious time that a couple are having. So I can tell you that to capture those moments is really special for a photographer.
